Storyline:


Barry Allen uses his super speed to change the past, but his attempt to save his family creates a world without super heroes, forcing him to race for his life in order to save the future.

GRADIENT COLOR EFFECTS
In Photoshop 5.5 we have five gradient styles.
(i) LINEAR GRADIENT
(ii) RADIAL GRADIENT
(iii) ANGLE GRADIENT
(iv) REFLECTED GRADIENT
(v) DIAMOND GRADIENT
USE OF GRADIENT TOOLS

Simply click and hold your mouse on the gradient tool to view all gradient tools. Choose any one of them and drag from one point to the other point on the work area. A gradient effect will be developed in your image with foreground and background color. You can choose any two colors.

Click a gradient tool and drag from one dot mark to the next dot mark.

LAYER EFFECTS
What a fantastic feature of Photoshop. It really creates wonderful effects especially for text items. However you can apply them on any object in a separate layer.
ADD LAYER EFFECTS

For any layer effect do the following:
Layer >Effects and choose an effect such as "Drop Shadow" or "Outer Glow" etc.
DETAILS OF LAYER EFFECTS
DROP SHADOW

Layer >Effects >Drop Shadow
Drop shadow effects dialogue box will open:
Set values for drop shadow effect and click "OK"

TEXT TOOL
Like other graphic softwares you can also create wonderful text effects in Photoshop.
USE OF TEXT TOOL
Click text tool and click on the work area to open text window as shown below and select different parameters:
Explanation
a: Choose a font
b: Choose bold or regular
c: Choose font color (click it and choose a color as described earlier)
d : Text alignment
e: Type your text in this portion
After typing click "OK".
WARNING : Whenever you type some text, it is automatically shifted to a new layer.To edit or reposition your text OR for any change, you must click the layer in which you want to make a change.
MOVE TEXT
Click Move Tool and drag your text to a new position .Move tool can be used to move any object in your project.
EDIT TEXT FOR CORRECTION
Right click your text and choose "Edit type" .
CHANGE HORIZONTAL TEXT INTO VERTICAL TEXT
Right click your text and choose "Vertical" otherwise choose "Horizontal".
REMEMBER : Type your text in segments (in more than one layers) because this technique is very helpful when you reposition text or try to add effects and filters. If you type whole text in one layer it will move at a time and you can not apply different effects on different parts of your text.
EXAMPLE
Text in one layer has the same effect on the whole text
Same thing in more than one layers with 8 different effects

Layers
Layers are imaginary transparent sheets placed over one another.We can see through layers. Layers prevent contents of a drawing to mix with each other. Contents of a layer do not disturb the contents of other layers. Each layer may have different objects.We can add layers to the image to organize our work.We can draw, edit, paste, and reposition elements on one layer without disturbing the others.
SHOW AND HIDE LAYERS PALETTE
From "Window menu" click "Show Layers" to open layers palette.
When we start a new project, by default we have one layer known as "background". However we can add a number of layers in our project .
ADD NEW LAYER
Click "add layer button" as shown to add a new layer.
DELETE A LAYER
Click a layer and drag it to "Trash Bin" as shown to delete a layer.

Click a layer and click "Trash Button" and click "YES".
CURRENT LAYER
Current layer means the layer in which we are working. Current layer is always highlighted in blue color.In the above diagram current layer is that which is labeled "City Collegiate T ".We can not work in a layer which is not highlighted.To make a layer "current layer" just click that layer.When it is highlighted you can make any change in it.
HIDDEN LAYER
When working on a number of layers, sometimes it becomes difficult to identify objects in different layers. To avoid this situation we can hide contents of layers. Click"Eye" to hide a layer or multiple layers. Contents of hidden layer becomes invisible

EDITABLE LAYER
A layer indicating "Paint Brush icon" is an editable layer. You can work on only one layer at a time.
DUPLICATE LAYER
Sometimes we need a copy of a particular layer.To duplicate a layer, right click the layer whose duplicate is required and choose " Duplicate Layer ".
As: Type a name for duplicate layer and click "OK".

COLOR
COLOR INDICATOR
  At the bottom of the drawing toolbar you will find a color indicator.
  Uppermost color is the foreground color. Colors selected from this tablet can be applied to all the   objects and it works with all the drawing tools such as paint brush, pencil tool and line tool etc.
  Lower color is applied only for background.
  Upper right circle is used to exchange current foreground color to background color and vice versa .   As you click this small button position of both colors will change.
  Bottom left circle default foreground and background colors I mean black and white. Click this button   to choose black and white colors.
CHOOSING A COLOR
  Click a color on the color indicator to open the color picker palette.
  1::: Drag this tiny circle to choose a color shade.
  2::: Click any color to choose a color.
  3::: New Color preview.
  4::: Drag slider to choose a color.
  5::: Check it, if you are working for web graphics
  7::: Old Color.
  6::: Click "Custom button"
  Same procedure for color selection as mentioned above.
  To return to color picker click "Picker".
COLOR MODE
  INDEXED COLOR MODE :For web graphics and multimedia.
  RGB COLOR : Based on mixing of red, green and blue colors. Best for web graphics because of small
  file size.
  CMYK COLOR : Based on cyan, magenta, yellow and black colors. Best for print media. Large file size.
  LAB COLOR : Old color mode not commonly used.

MOVE TOOL
With the help of move tool we can reposition an object on the canvas.
Click "Move Tool".Click and drag an object to a new position and release mouse.
MAGIC WAND TOOL
This is really a magic tool of photoshop.This tool lets us to select different areas of an image according to color saturation. I mean to say that if we have an image of ten different colors and we want to delete or change a particular color or delete an unwanted portion, in this situation magic wand is useful.
HOW MAGIC WAND WORKS
Consider the image of truck:
Now we want to change the white color of container .Choose "Magic Wand Tool" and click the white portion of container.
Notice that the left side of the container is selected:
Click "Paint Bucket Tool" , choose a color and click the selected area
Tip : For multiple selection Press and hold "Shift" key and click on the image to select different portions of image.

PRIMARY SETTING OF IMAGE
This is the first lesson of Adobe Photoshop 5.5. In this lesson we will cover primary setting of work area .
When we start working on a new project, first we set size, background color and color mode for an image.
PRIMARY SETTING
From "File Menu" choose "New" to open the following dialogue box:
Enter desired values for your new project.
Name : Type a name to identify your image/drawing
Width : Horizontal dimension of image (Use can select a unit by clicking triangle marked "A")
Height : Vertical dimension of image
Mode : Standard color mode is "RGB".RGB stands for red, green, blue.
Contents : Select a background color for your image.
(1) White : White background color
(2) Background Color : Current color as fill
(3) Transparent : No Background Color (When you choose "transparent" your canvas will show you gray and white squares but they will not appear in your final image because they are like a graph only).
When you set all the parameters click "OK".As you click "OK", a canvas of your required size will appear as shown below:
